Acceptable use and election integrity

Why this policy exists

We work for parties, campaigns, governments, agencies and businesses across the spectrum. Our election work measures public conversation; it does not take sides. To keep that true, some uses are off limits for us and for our clients.

What we will not do, and you may not use our work for

• Creating or spreading disinformation, including fabricated quotes, doctored media or synthetic content presented as real.
• Running, advising on or disguising coordinated inauthentic behaviour, such as bot networks or undisclosed paid amplification.
• Identifying, profiling or targeting individual voters or other private individuals.
• Monitoring, harassing or intimidating journalists, activists, election officials or other private individuals.
• Suppressing turnout or misleading people about when, where or how to vote.
• Getting around election law, campaign finance rules or platform rules.
• Inferring or acting on sensitive characteristics of named private individuals, such as health, religion or sexual orientation.

How we keep deliverables neutral

• Every candidate or party gets the same modules and the same visual weight.
• Accurate criticism is never labelled as misinformation.
• Coordination signals are labelled as signals until there is evidence.
• Every reading carries a confidence level and a human-review note.

What happens if this policy is broken

We may decline an engagement, pause work, or end an engagement under our terms of service if we believe our work is being used against this policy.
